How to Play Free Bet Blackjack

Before the round begins, you must place your main bet. You may also choose up to four optional side bets. As in standard Live Blackjack, the dealer shuffles and then deals two cards to each player face-up, and two cards to themselves, one face-up and one face-down.

Gameplay follows traditional Blackjack rules but includes opportunities for free Double Down and free Split bets on specific qualifying hands. The dealer stands on soft 17, and a dealer total of 22 results in a push. The Six Card Charlie rule also applies: if you draw six cards totaling 21 or less, you automatically win the main bet.

Betting Round

A large on-screen widget appears for placing bets. If you’re new, starting with smaller bets can be wise. Choose your chip value and place it on the main betting circle. After the cards are dealt, the widget will reappear to give you action options: Hit, Stand, Double, or Split. Minimum bets are typically €5 or €10.

Play Round

Once all initial bets are placed, the dealer deals two cards to each player. Players with a natural Blackjack are paid immediately unless the dealer also has Blackjack, in which case the result is a push. After receiving your cards, you can Hit, Stand, or Double Down. If dealt a pair, you may also Split.

The key difference in Free Bet Blackjack is the availability of free bets.

  • Free Double is offered only on hard totals of 9, 10, or 11.
  • You may still choose to Double Down on other hands using your own chips.
  • Free Split is offered on all pairs except 10-10, J-J, Q-Q, or K-K. The original bet stays with the first hand, while the second hand receives a Free Bet chip from the dealer.
